Guest Video Blogger Catherine Bybee ~ Top 10 things to do while waiting for your editor.

Thank you for having me today, Dayana.

As every author knows, waiting to hear from a publisher about a submission, or an editor about edits, can be maddening. But there are things an author can do to keep busy so we aren't sending letters to our editors asking about the status of our work. * Rolling eyes... I've done this with every single submission and worried every single time that I might make the editor mad. So far, that concern has been unfounded... But we don't want to rock the boat too much.

Here is numbers 7 + 8 on my list. If you've not seen 9 + 10 please step over to my blogspot by clicking here and checking out that video blog.

  3. Good Morning, Cathy! As always wonderful advice. Got up a wee bit late this morning so I've got to run but I will stop by later this afternoon.

Guess my brain needed a little extra R&R after that muse explosion this weekend:) Talk to you later.

Thank you so much for joining me here today.

  5. Great advice! Honestly, the whole writing reviews thing hadn't occurred to me. As much as I read, I should be doing Amazon reviews, LOL. Thanks for the tip!

  6. Catherine you are just adorable. You should have been on TV. And the advise is right on.
I'll see you in August at the Pink Fuzzy Slipper Writers blog on August 21.

I hope everyone comes to see what Catherine has to say.

Dayana has an informal book signing at The Cracker Barrel restaurant in West Palm Beach, right near I95. Not only is it a fun place, but authors will be there to sign books! I hope whomever can come, will!

  9. Ohhh yeah, glad everyone could come out to play today.

Helen: My thought is, make every book you read count.

Mary: TV huh? Great, are you offering me a job? LOL

Rick: nice to meet you and thanks for the kudos.

Nightingale: Please do. Be sure an post a comment on my note for today if you'd like my next blog to be posted on your blogspot. I'm having a drawing. Right now Helen is the only one waving... hint, hint.

  11. More excellent advice, Catherine. I do read as much as I can, but I hate doing reviews - shades of school coming back to haunt me!

  12. Phew! *Takes a deep breath* This is the first chance I've had to sit down and check out the attendance here today. Looks like your ideas are a hit, Cathy. Be sure to hop on over to Cathy's blog and check out the rest of the list. I intend to.

I'm off to a few more chores then a bit of work on my WIP.

See you all tomorrow when Toni V. Sweeney steps in the hot seat *grin*

Thanks for joining me today, Cathy.

  13. Great advice, Catherine! I agree about getting a website up and running. It's a good job I started that one early, as it took me almost five years just to figure out where and what the tables were!!!

  14. Michelle: If even one hint is something you can use, then yeah. Glad you stopped by.

Shelley: Reviews do sometimes smack of school work. Think of it this way. When you say something about the last book you've read, simply write those words down. Then type it into goodreads or Amazon. Can't hurt.

Christina: My website still doesn't have everything I want on it. In time... All in good time.
