Hello, my friends!

After a long, unexpected sabbitical Author Spotlight returns in April.  I look forward to these little peeks into other authors' lives and craft secrets.  I hope you all do as well.

If you have a new release coming up or just want some free PR, which, btw, never hurts, *grin* please contact me privately via email

If you are a reader interested in finding out just how your favorite author ticks, by all means, drop in on Thursdays and take a peek at who is in the hot seat.  You may even win free books or some other item the author is giving away.  Look forward to getting started again.

I will notify you of specific dates before the end of the weekend on the below authors' visits.

I will have Jason Barrett, author of Dead or a Lie (great title isn't it?) and Debra St. John, author of the new release, Wild Wedding Weekend(Looks very interesting if you ask me), coming up in April.

Stay tuned for the details and dates on these two wonderful authors.

Evening, all.  Just thought I'd pop in and show you what I've been up to the last couple of weeks besides fighting the flu that is... The picture to the left is a closeup of one of my Christmas topiaries I create each year. I use this pic for the wallpaper on my Blackberry:) As many of you, I've been very busy preparing for the beauty of the Christmas Season.  I just love being creative and customizing my own decorations.  Two years ago, I was very impressed with a "Corner Tree" I saw in an ABC Distributing Catalogue so yes, I bought it.  Below is a picture of it.  It saves space and looks absolutely exquisite!  I have two seven and a half foot trees that are beautiful with a revolving tree stand but you know what? Sometimes you just don't feel like dealing with all that and I'll tell you, this tree is just as pretty.

Also, I had picked up some-- for lack of a better description--stick lamps at a garage sale a few weeks ago with the thought of dressing them up for each holiday. Wait until you see what I've done with them. I am so excited:) Below are some closeups of the lamps which you will see on the fireplace mantel.  See? We writers can be pretty clever and crafty in other ways, LOL

And of course, I had in my mind I wanted flicker bulbs for the lamps and you know?  I finally found them at Home Depo.  I'd about given up but as I crawled along the floor of the lightbulb display wall there they were! Hidden way at the bottom and only one little row of them.  But I felt as if I'd found heaven:)

Also, I am very proud of the topiaries I mentioned below.  I had created matching set which sits on either side of my china cabinet in the dining room.  I have put them up for probably four years now and decorated them each year like the tree.  For the first couple of years I'd utilized them as I'd bought them with white lights but I love colored lights so a couple of years ago I switched them out.

And finally, I have like many people collected village pieces and change it up each year. I have a train set but depending on how much room I want in the living room I utilize them. This year I opted for a simple village so I only used a few pieces.  Sometimes simple is more effective. Don't you think?  I'll save these pics for my next post.

Thanks for sharing my holiday preparation with me.  May yours be festive, warm and filled with happiness and much joy!

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and a very Happy New Year!

Two days and counting...

My new author spotlight series will begin Thursday! Please bring yourself and all your friends to hang out with Traci Hall, YA paranormal and historical romance author.

Traci will be joining me here, Thursday, September 3rd for the debut of the weekly spotlight feature. And Traci will be giving away a lucky winner's choice of print or digital copy of her newest release, Something Wiccan This Way Comes!

Each week a new author will grace my blog and tell us all kinds of stuff about themselves. Why not add this blog to your list of favorites haunts. Also, if you haven't already done so, I'd love for you to sign up to Dayana's Happenings. Just click on the Yahoo Groups icon on the right sidebar. Get first notice of new events, releases, contest information, and newsletters.

Also, September's newsletter will be coming soon! I'm a bit behind but will have the newsletter ready within the next few days. I'm really excited about all this new activity here and hope you are too.

If you are a published author and want to participate in the "Author Spotlight" feature please email me at gothscribegirl@aol.com. I'd be happy to accommodate you. I'm booked now through November and as far out as April, 2010.

Gotta go for now, but I'll catch up with you all again soon:)
