Another awesome Hauntings in the Gardens story...

Crimson Summer
Author: Cecilia Farrell
Paranormal romance
Release: October 27, 2014
Tagline: Keeping
secrets is as dangerous as finding them out.
Excerpt:
I frowned. Don Perkins had given Daddy’s gun back to
Momma, didn’t he?
“God forgive me for saying this but keep it nearby, just
in case. The legends are true about that, you know. Silver and iron. They
kill.”
“Let’s pray it doesn’t come to that.”
Behind him the sun was going down, red like roses, red
like blood. We looked at each other for a long moment. Then I stood on my
tip-toes, took his face in my hands, and kissed him on the mouth. “For luck,” I
said. “Good-bye, Liam.”
He smiled sadly. “Good-bye, Ranalt.”
I didn’t leave the truck stop after Liam drove away. I
couldn’t wait. I had to call my mother and ask her where Daddy’s gun was. The
‘special’ gun. She sputtered a bit but finally told me: the top shelf of the
office closet. In a box marked Christmas decorations.
She didn’t ask why I wanted to know.
Blurb
What Carrick
County’s powerful
Phelan family want, they usually get, whether that’s land like the Fitzgerald
farm, or women, like the Fitzgerald girls. Handsome Liam can’t tempt
Ranalt, whose
heart belongs to neighbour Colin Sweeney. But his older brother Rory attracts
her sister Lacey like a magnet draws steel.
When the boys and their father
Patrick visit Joe and Sheila Fitzgerald with a mysterious offer, all hell breaks
loose. A furious Joe orders the Phelans off his property and away from his
daughters, warning he knows what to do about their kind. Soon afterwards,
Fitzgerald fences are slashed and cattle lie torn apart. Coincidence or cause
for fear?
There are secrets in Carrick
County people
don’t dare reveal.
But Ranalt will risk everything to protect her family, the man she loves and the
little girl she adores. Each turn of the summer moon brings danger and in the
shadows, something waits...

About the author:
“Cee” Farrell grew up in a rural area
much like Carrick County, minus the werewolves.
(But there are wolves in the provincial park, so who knows?) She made her first
sale to a popular confession magazine while in college. Chocolate is her
favourite drug, with mocha lattes not far behind.
